About us

The Wasteless Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2023, aimed at promoting international and domestic cooperation with other stakeholders and initiatives. The professionals at the Wasteless Foundation specialize in consumer sciences and the prevention of food waste, using their expertise and experience to combat food waste.

Our mission

The Wasteless Foundation team has expertise in writing and implementing EU-funded RDI projects, including Horizon, LIFE, Single Market Programme, CHAFEA, and Interreg projects. The members of the foundation’s board are part of the EU Food Losses and Food Waste Platform, the European Consumer Food Waste Forum, the EFSA’s Coordinated Communication Network of the European Food Safety Authority, Risk Communication Working Group of the EC Agricultural Research Committee, and the European Food Information Council (EUFIC). Our main goal is to reach all age groups through educational materials, providing useful tips and practices to make food waste reduction a common objective.

This project reduces workplace food waste with data-driven, behavior-focused interventions, employee engagement, and sustainable partnerships with food banks.

Environmental Education on Sustainable Nutrition for Primary School Children  

The project aims to support the development of healthy and sustainable eating habits in children through school catering, the involvement of
teachers, and the everyday decisions of parents.

News

In 2016, we launched the Wasteless Program, Hungary’s national food waste prevention program. This project was recognized by the JRC/EU Commission as an international best practice, and the EU LIFE Awards 2023 committee identified it as one of the top 3 environmental programs in the EU. As a foundation, our connection to the program is rooted in our shared values and goals, collaborating to achieve common objectives. Together, we leverage resources and expertise to make a significant impact and achieve sustainable results.
